NTIA yet to send states eligible location lists for new BEAD funding round
States have not yet received lists of locations eligible for an additional BEAD funding round, with Arkansas broadband office head Glen Howie saying lists may not arrive until November. NTIA appears to be reviewing June location data before finalizing the new round's scope, delaying planning for providers awaiting the next opportunity.
What this means for BEAD compliance

No compliance obligations are activated by this delay since no new locations or awards have been designated yet; this is a pre-application administrative holdup rather than a triggering event. Providers should treat this as a planning signal only, since readiness activities such as engineering design packages, PE certifications, and match funding documentation cannot begin in earnest until NTIA finalizes and transmits the eligible location lists. Compliance officers should monitor for the list release (expected around November) as the actual trigger for pre-award clocks and deadlines.
Opportunity: Providers not previously awarded BEAD funds in Arkansas may be able to apply for new unserved/underserved locations once NTIA releases the eligible location lists, expected as early as November 2026.
