NTIA approves Illinois' BEAD Final Proposal, completing all 56 state and territorial approvals
NTIA announced approval of Illinois' BEAD Final Proposal, the last of all 56 state and territorial Final Proposals, with Illinois's approved plan set to spend $831 million of its $1.04 billion allocation, down from $970 million in its earlier draft. The approved technology mix is about 68% fiber, nearly 24% fixed wireless, 8% satellite, and a small share of cable, with total eligible locations falling to 142,400 from nearly 157,000 in the draft.
