Washington signs final BEAD contracts with four of 26 selected ISPs
Washington State's broadband office director Jordan Arnold said the state has signed final contracts with four of its 26 BEAD grant winners. One fixed wireless project is close to starting construction, though ISPs are facing cost increases.

The four Washington ISPs that have executed final BEAD contracts, and the remaining 22 selected awardees still finalizing agreements with the Washington State Broadband Office.
For the four ISPs with signed contracts, active_deployment obligations now begin, including permit acquisition, procurement standards, Buy America compliance, subrecipient monitoring, and financial reporting on expenditures and cost sharing. Construction start (as with the fixed wireless project) will trigger permit maintenance and contractor oversight duties, and reported cost increases raise risk of non-federal cost share documentation gaps or scope changes requiring state review. The remaining 22 awardees remain in pre_award status until contracts are executed, so environmental and SCRM certification obligations tied to award acceptance still apply to them.
