Virginia signs BEAD grant agreements with 19 providers covering $545M in projects

Virginia's Office of Broadband has executed BEAD subgrantee agreements with 19 internet service providers, including SpaceX, Verizon, Breezeline, and Brightspeed, with signed contracts covering about 64,000 locations as part of the state's over $545 million BEAD program targeting roughly 85,000 homes and businesses. The remaining three providers, Amazon, Comcast, and All Points Broadband, were expected to sign by August 16 after taking on locations that Wi-Fiber declined to serve for its awarded 1,800 locations.
