NTIA lets states use BEAD savings for new round targeting missed unserved locations
NTIA announced states and territories can direct a portion of the roughly $21 billion in BEAD program savings toward a new funding round for a 'true-up' of locations lacking service that were not deemed eligible in the original BEAD process. The agency, under Administrator Arielle Roth, framed the move as a targeted way to reach newly identified unserved locations while limiting cost to taxpayers, and further non-deployment guidance is not expected imminently.
