Minnesota broadband office open to BEAD waivers to offset rising project costs

Bree Maki, executive director of Minnesota's Office of Broadband Development, said at the Mountain Connect conference in Denver that her office would support waivers to increase grant support if they made sense, even without a high chance of NTIA approval. She suggested NTIA could tap BEAD surplus funds to help address rising deployment costs and reach remaining unserved locations.
