Illinois provisional BEAD subgrantee awards now published via award map
The Illinois Office of Broadband announced that provisional BEAD awards under Connect Illinois Round 4 are now available, directing stakeholders to an interactive BEAD Award Map (illinoisbead.org) showing award details by location, provider, and technology. The state's official page notes the program remains subject to change based on NTIA's June 6, 2025 BEAD Restructuring Policy Notice.
What this means for BEAD compliance
ISPs that received provisional BEAD subgrantee awards under Connect Illinois Round 4, and other providers monitoring award status in Illinois.
Award map publication signals provisional (not final) selection, so pre-award obligations such as challenge pre-registration and readiness documentation remain the operative compliance track rather than active-deployment obligations, which do not yet trigger. Provisionally selected ISPs should confirm their award details and begin preparing subgrantee agreement documentation, but should not yet treat this as start of construction, environmental, or performance clocks. The state's explicit caveat that awards remain subject to change under NTIA's June 6, 2025 BEAD Restructuring Policy Notice means providers face residual risk of award modification or rescission before agreements are executed.
